Model Train Exhibition

Every year between Christmas and New Year's, the Washington State History Museum hosts a model train exhibition. That means four floors of train layouts! We went the day it opened and back again two days later because Jasper loved it so much.

Trains ranged from O scale all the way to G scale. The multi-level tunnels in this one were pretty clever.

Jasper got to try his hand at controlling a train speed simulation.

Surprisingly, this layout by the Boeing model train club seemed to have the most difficulties getting their trains going. It does make one wonder.

A large G-gauge was set up with logs, cars and animals for the kids to load and unload.

Some very detailed miniature towns and country scapes were set up as part of the exhibition.

It was a great day watching the trains go by.

Well, what's a trip to the Museum without a stop at a very important piece of Washington State History?
