My Girlfriend Has A Train!

We had a family sleepover at the Eagans' so Jasper and Maddy could enjoy some Christmas time together. Most importantly, so they could play with Uncle Sean and Auntie Michelle's vintage Lionel train set. (Who are we kidding? Let's just call it Maddy's train set.)

First, Maddy gave Jasper his Christmas gifts and then proceded to show him how to open them. He didn't care, he was just excited to get new Thomas the Tank Engine stuff.

Once Uncle Sean had the train running, the kids were completely occupied for two hours...that's what I said, TWO hours.

"What do you want? Can't you see we're busy playing trains."

Of course, the big kids enjoyed it as much as the little ones. Christy and Michelle both agreed that the electrical smell that comes off the engines brings back great childhood memories of when our Dad's would set up their train sets at Christmas time.

A quick kiss before the train comes around again.

Isn't my girlfriend great!

Playing tunnel and eating train-shaped cookies that Christy made special for the occasion.

One last hug before bedtime.

And then they fell asleep on Maddy's floor, laying on two foam mattresses, surrounded by enough pillows, blankets and stuffed animals to fill a railway car.

We're sure Jasper had sweet dreams of trains and cookies.
