Three Cheers For The Red, White and Blue!

Just as Christy grew up going annually to a Fourth of July parade, we decided to bestow Jasper with same the tradition. We took him to see the parade in Carnation, WA this year. It's a small, rural town evidenced by the agricultural-themed parade entries: mainly tractors.

Sporting our best red, white and blue.

A motorcycle-riding Uncle Sam kicked off the parade.

Presentation of the American flag.

Jasper was fascinated by this raccoon who danced to the "Macarena".

This was the biggest John Deere Jasper has ever seen.

The smile tells us it was a good first parade.

Then we headed to the Classic Car and Harley Davidson show.

"I'll take that one."

Can you say "vroom!"?

A classic Teardrop trailer, just Jasper's size.

Christy's personal favorite: a 1956 Chevy Bel Air.

To Rick's dismay, Jasper also had his first ever Cotton Candy.

The boys took a quick train ride around the parking lot.

And Mommy and Jasper ended the day with a plummet down the giant slide.

Bombs away!

We concluded our Independence Day celebration by watching the evening fireworks from our bonus room window as they sparkled across the ridge. It was a good day. God bless America.
