Family Visits From the Windy City

It had been quite a while since we had a visit with Jasper's relatives from Chicago. But in mid-June Grandpa Paul, Baba-chan Sue and Auntie Kimi came out for a visit. We spent most of the time up on beautiful Orcas Island and then took a day at Pike Place market.

Jasper certainly had his moments (he's a terrible two now) staying at a new house without his usual toys and entertainment, but overall he did great.

Here are Kimi, her friend Jessie and Jasper heading down to the beach.

Throwing rocks into the water never gets old.

Here's a little beach bum we found.

After the visit to the beach, Jasper and Grandpa enjoyed some snacks and watching a little golf.

We went hiking one day and, as could be expected, Jasper got tired about half way and wanted to be carried. Thank goodness Grandpa met up with us during the last section of the climb because Christy had pretty much used up every last ounce of energy carrying that little sack o' potatoes.

Rick was able to come with us the day we visited Pike Place market. We hadn't been there in quite a while so it was fun to see all the shops, produce and flower stands, as well as sample some northwest delicacies.

Here are Rick and Jasper in front of a Seattle icon.

The family taking a stroll past a stand full of beautifully colored fruits and vegetables.

For some reason Jasper couldn't remember Jessie's name, so he simplified the problem by referring to both girls as "Kimi". So here are Kimi #1 and Kimi #2 sitting enjoying the sunny day in Seattle.

A stop in front of the famous Jack's Fish Shop where we have a family tradition of stopping for some crab legs.

Here we all are waiting for our crab legs at Jack's itty-bitty counter area.
